Terms of Use

By using HexCheck, you agree to these terms.

Last updated: August 31, 2026

Use of the service

HexCheck is a general-purpose color reference, design workflow, and accessibility aid. You may use its output for personal, educational, and commercial projects, subject to these terms and applicable law.

Accounts and security

You are responsible for providing accurate account information, protecting your credentials, and activity performed through your account. Do not share administrator access or attempt to access another user’s workspace. HexCheck may suspend accounts involved in abuse, fraud, security attacks, or material violations of these terms.

Free access, previews, and advertising

The Color Utility and public informational pages may be used without a paid plan. Specialized tools may be presented in an interactive preview state so you can inspect their interface and representative behavior before subscribing. Actions identified as Pro require an active entitlement. Signed-out visitors and users on the Free plan may see clearly labeled advertising when advertising is enabled.

Paid plans

Paid plans renew according to the price and billing interval shown at checkout until canceled. The current Personal Pro offers are $8 per month or $75 per year and include an ad-free HexCheck experience while the subscription remains active. Billing, payment methods, invoices, cancellation, and eligible plan changes are managed through HexCheck account settings and Stripe. Features associated with a paid plan may become unavailable after cancellation, failed payment, refund, chargeback, or administrative revocation. Stored workspace data may be retained for a reasonable period so access can resume after reactivation.

A paid subscription provides a limited, revocable right to access the Pro features HexCheck makes available during the subscription term. It does not purchase, transfer, or guarantee ownership of any particular feature, integration, workflow, interface, output format, storage capacity, or level of service.

Free trials and automatic renewal

When a one-day Pro trial is offered, checkout identifies the selected plan, trial length, post-trial price, and billing interval before you subscribe. A payment method is required. By starting the trial, you authorize Stripe to charge that payment method automatically when the one-day trial ends: $8 for the monthly plan or $75 for the yearly plan, unless you cancel before the trial ends. After the first charge, the subscription continues to renew at the selected interval until canceled. Canceling before the trial ends prevents the first subscription charge. Trial eligibility may be limited to one trial per person, account, payment method, or household, and trials obtained through abuse or fraud may be revoked.

Cancellation and 7-day money-back guarantee

You may cancel a Personal Pro subscription at any time from Account Settings. Unless you choose an eligible refund, cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the current trial or paid billing period, Pro access continues until that time, and the subscription will not renew afterward.

HexCheck offers one automatic money-back guarantee refund per account for an eligible Personal Pro subscription payment requested within seven days after that payment was successfully collected. The automatic refund covers the full latest qualifying subscription payment. Choosing “Refund & cancel” returns the eligible payment to the original payment method and ends the associated Pro subscription so it does not renew.

The automatic guarantee is not available for a payment that has already been refunded, partially refunded, disputed, or charged back; after an account has already used its automatic guarantee refund; for transactions outside the seven-day window; for non-subscription charges; or where HexCheck reasonably determines that the request involves fraud, abuse, or manipulation of the refund program. Refund processing time after submission depends on Stripe, the payment method, the card network, and the user’s financial institution. This policy does not limit any refund, cancellation, consumer-protection, or other rights that cannot legally be waived.

Invitations and referral rewards

Referral rewards are issued only after a referred user completes a qualifying paid-plan payment. Signups, trials, zero-dollar invoices, failed payments, self-referrals, duplicate referrals, fraudulent transactions, refunded payments, and chargebacks may be excluded or reversed. HexCheck may modify or end the referral program and may reject activity intended to manipulate rewards.

No professional guarantee

Color conversions, contrast calculations, generated palettes, website scans, design tokens, exports, and accessibility indicators are provided for convenience. You remain responsible for testing the final product, including typography, font size, display conditions, user settings, content, interaction, and the complete accessibility experience.

Acceptable use

You may not interfere with the service, bypass security or plan controls, overload infrastructure, distribute malware, probe accounts without authorization, scrape in a manner that materially harms availability, or use HexCheck in violation of law or third-party rights.

Your content

You retain responsibility for colors, names, logos, URLs, brand materials, and other content submitted to HexCheck. You confirm that you have the rights needed to use and process that material. HexCheck receives only the limited permission needed to store, process, display, and export the content as part of the service.

Service availability, changes, and discontinuation

HexCheck is an evolving online service. To the maximum extent permitted by law, HexCheck may add, remove, replace, limit, suspend, redesign, or discontinue any feature, integration, workflow, interface, output format, storage limit, or other part of the service at any time. Changes may occur with or without prior notice, although HexCheck may provide notice when reasonably practical or when required by law.

Purchasing or renewing a subscription does not guarantee that any particular feature will remain available, operate without interruption, produce identical results, remain compatible with a particular browser, device, external website, third-party service, or file format, or meet every user requirement. Temporary outages, maintenance, security incidents, technical defects, third-party failures, data-processing delays, and other interruptions may occur. HexCheck does not promise any specific uptime, service level, response time, recovery time, or error-free operation unless a separate written agreement expressly states otherwise.

If HexCheck permanently discontinues a paid plan or materially removes substantially all paid functionality before the end of a prepaid subscription term, any remedy will be determined by applicable law and any refund policy then in effect. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or remedies that cannot legally be waived.

Third-party services

HexCheck relies on hosting, authentication, database, email, payment, analytics, scanning, and advertising providers. Availability or changes to those third-party services may affect HexCheck. Third-party services and links are governed by their own terms and policies.

Disclaimer and limitation

The service is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the maximum extent permitted by law, HexCheck disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, reliability, and uninterrupted or error-free operation.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, HexCheck and its owners, operators, affiliates, contractors, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages; loss of profits, revenue, business, goodwill, data, or use; or costs of substitute services arising from or related to the service, even if advised that such damages were possible. These limitations do not apply where prohibited by law or to liability that cannot legally be limited.

Changes and contact

These terms may be updated as the service evolves. Material subscription terms will be disclosed as required by applicable law. Continued use after an effective update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. Questions can be submitted through the Contact page.
