Privacy Policy

This policy explains what HexCheck stores, why it is used, and the controls available to you.

Last updated: August 2, 2026

Color Utility without an account

You can use the HexCheck Color Utility without creating an account. The site may use browser storage to remember interface preferences, the active color, temporary preview state, and recent local activity. You can remove this information through HexCheck controls or your browser’s site-data settings.

Account information

When you create an account, HexCheck stores the email address, profile name, account creation and sign-in timestamps, authentication records, preferences, plan and entitlement state, and administrator status where applicable. Passwords are handled by the authentication provider and are not displayed to HexCheck administrators.

Cloud workspace data

Signed-in Pro users may store colors, palettes, gradients, collection favorites, contrast comparisons, searches, Brand Kits, website scans, applied-color projects, and activity history in their cloud workspace. Account-level database policies are used to keep one user’s workspace separate from another user’s workspace.

Billing

Paid-plan checkout and billing management are processed by Stripe. HexCheck stores identifiers and subscription status needed to recognize the customer and provide the purchased plan. HexCheck does not store complete payment-card numbers in its application database.

Invitations and referrals

When a signed-in user sends an invitation, HexCheck stores the invited email address, inviter, invitation status, referral code, and related timestamps. Referral qualification and rewards are recorded only when the referred account completes a qualifying paid-plan payment.

Hosting and technical logs

Hosting, authentication, database, email, security, and payment providers may process standard technical information such as IP address, browser type, requested URL, timestamps, authentication events, and security signals. This information is used to operate the service, prevent abuse, diagnose failures, and protect accounts.

Analytics and advertising

HexCheck may use privacy-focused aggregate analytics to understand page usage and performance. When advertising is enabled, clearly labeled ads may appear for signed-out visitors and users on the Free plan. Pro accounts do not receive these ads. Advertising providers may process device, browser, approximate-location, page, and interaction information to deliver, measure, secure, or personalize advertising. Where consent is legally required for optional cookies or advertising technologies, HexCheck will wait for that consent before requesting ads.

Your controls

Account Settings lets you update profile information and preferences, change your password, end sessions, download account data, and request permanent account deletion. Deleting an account removes the associated HexCheck account and stored workspace data, subject to limited records that may need to be retained for security, fraud prevention, billing reconciliation, or legal obligations.

Third-party links

HexCheck may link to third-party websites. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.

Changes and contact

This policy may be updated as HexCheck changes. The date above will be revised when material changes are published. Privacy questions can be submitted through the support path on the Contact page.
